Job Mission

As an Electrical Engineer - Integrator at ASML San Diego, you will take full technical ownership of complex electrical designs, leading the development and integration of sub-modules within a multidisciplinary environment. Operating at the Train level, you will interface with multiple sectors, often requiring negotiation and collaboration to ensure seamless functionality across domains. This role demands an end-to-end perspective, balancing technical innovation with business impact, customer needs, and marketing considerations. You will troubleshoot structural issues at the functional level, manage technical uncertainties, and develop creative solutions to complex challenges. Acting as a Technical Lead Designer, you will steer the work of 6-10 engineers, driving design activities to deliver advanced electrical and electronic solutions. Your expertise will influence product development cycles, ensuring compliance with organizational standards while proactively identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.

Role and responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver research plans for major program aspects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Identify, analyze, document, and manage product / project requirements throughout the lifecycle; verify deliverables meet specifications.
  • Conduct cost-benefit and technical feasibility analyses; contribute to product roadmaps and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Design engineering solutions and validation processes that meet functionality, performance, cost, and regulatory standards.
  • Create high-level technical concepts, define architecture, select materials, and resolve technical challenges across development phases.
  • Translate concepts into detailed designs with complete documentation, ensuring compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Integrate subsystems, manage configurations, and provide technical support for project execution.
  • Verify design specifications, develop innovative testing strategies, and ensure product quality across defined product ranges.
  • Adhere to EHS policies, promote safe practices, and mitigate risks within the team environment.
  • Support planning, create work breakdown structures, estimate efforts, delegate tasks, and ensure timely, quality delivery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Stay current on technical developments, mentor junior colleagues, and contribute to organizational knowledge growth.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical engineering with full competence in your area of expertise.
  • Seasoned designer within own competence and has completed at least one full product development cycle.
  • Proven ability to lead technical design activities and manage complex integration challenges.
  • Skills

  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills, with experience guiding 6-10 engineers.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and negotiation abilities in complex environments.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills at functional and sub-module levels.
  • Ability to manage technical uncertainties and develop creative, forward-looking solutions.
  • Deep understanding of electrical design principles, system integration, and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with ASML processes, standards, and product development cycles.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills for complex technical concepts.

  • This position is located on-site in San Diego, CA . It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
  • A flexible workplace arrangement may be available to employees working in roles conducive to remote work (up to two days a week).
  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
  • Occasionally lift and / or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.

    The current base annual salary range for this role is currently :

    $124,875-208,125

    Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

    The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
