Job Description

Under the leadership of the IT Change Manager, the RCA Analysts' primary role is to have a detailed knowledge and analytical mind set to perform IT Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Will lead root cause investigations for high-impact incidents and recurring issues across IT systems, clinical applications, and infrastructure. Will collaborate with incident management, Service Desk, clinical application support, engineering teams, and vendors to identify, isolate, and resolve root causes. Produce detailed RCA reports, including timelines, root causes, corrective actions, and preventive recommendations. Facilitate post-incident reviews (PIRs) with IT leadership, and other teams to ensure transparent knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. Maintain RCA documentation in alignment with ITIL and healthcare quality standards. Develop and report metrics for RCA effectiveness, highlighting trends in recurring problems, system performance, and incident reduction. Contribute to continual service improvement (CSI) initiatives and promote a culture of initiative-taking problem solving. Ensure compliance with ITIL standards and alignment with organizational change and incident management processes.

Specialization

Meticulous IT Root Cause Analysis (RCA) identifies, documents, and helps eliminate the causes of critical IT incidents. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system reliability, reduce repeat incidents, and ensure compliance with incident management standards.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Lead root cause analysis investigations for high-impact incidents and recurring issues across IT systems, applications, and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with incident management, Service Desk, clinical application support, engineering teams, and vendors to identify, isolate, and resolve root causes.
  • Produce detailed RCA reports, including timelines, root causes, corrective actions, and preventive recommendations.
  • Facilitate post-incident reviews (PIRs) with IT leadership, and other teams to ensure transparent knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain RCA documentation in alignment with ITIL and healthcare quality standards.
  • Contribute to and maintain a knowledge base of known errors, root causes, and effective resolutions to support organizational learning and faster incident resolution.
  • Track the implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions to ensure long-term resolution and risk mitigation.
  • Develop and report metrics for RCA effectiveness, highlighting trends in recurring problems, system performance, and incident reduction.
  • Contribute to continual service improvement (CSI) initiatives and promote a culture of proactive problem solving.
  • Ensure compliance with ITIL standards and alignment with organizational change and incident management processes.
  • Participate in team and leadership meetings to discuss team and ongoing project related activities, issues, change, communications, and updates.
  • No supervisory responsibility
  • Accountable for developing technical skills.
  • Recognizes when the team needs to be given direction. Proactively looks for feedback to share in their peer's work and solicits feedback in return.
  • Provide training and guidance to IT teams on RCA methodologies and best practices to build organizational capability in problem management.

Required Experience and Professional Skills

Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in the healthcare industry and experience in required RCA discipline

  • Growing knowledge of the principles in the discipline of RCA
  • Ability to clearly communicate responses to others' questions.

  • The ability to gain trust and establish effective relationships with system end users, business unit and vendor counterparts.

  • The ability to persevere in difficult situations, overcome obstacles, and reach high levels of performance when faced with stressful work situations and time pressures.

  • Required Education and Certifications

    Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in information technology, Health Informatics, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with clinical workflows, EHR / EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner), and healthcare regulatory environments. Epic Experience preferred
  • Proficient in root cause methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone / Ishikawa, Fault Tree Analysis).
  • Certifications

  • ITIL Foundation or Practitioner certification.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Remedy, or other ITSM platforms.
  • Understanding of HL7, FHIR, or other health data exchange protocols preferred.
  • Additional Information :

    Salary : $110,000 - $130,000 Annual
