  • Job Summary

    Glendale Community College is hiring a Student Services Analyst to supervise a Field of Interest team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a case management approach; advising students on goal setting, occupational degree, and certificate options; transfer pathways; course selection; testing (placement and programmatic); registration; academic progress; and satisfactory progress toward certificate / degree using PeopleSoft (SIS) and other technology. Occasional travel to student locations and events may be required.

    Essential Functions

    30% - Provides professional-level, end-to-end academic advising to a caseload of students to support learning, persistence, and degree completion. Offers one-on-one and group advising for onboarding, retention, and academic success. Serves as the primary liaison connecting students with academic and personal resources including tutoring, counseling, and career services. Provides proactive follow-up to ensure student progress and learning outcomes are achieved. Monitors academic standing through various reporting and case management tools.

    25% - Supervises and leads the work of assigned Student Services Specialists / Specialist Sr.

    s and / or part-time support staff . Provides direction, performance evaluation, and feedback. Facilitates advisor training and ongoing professional development. Interprets and applies college and district policies related to curriculum, advising, and student success. Handles sensitive or urgent matters requiring confidentiality or quality assurance, and ensures service alignment with institutional goals. Evaluates performance and provides feedback. Handles immediate or sensitive issues requiring confidentiality or quality assurance. Escalates matters requiring senior leadership intervention at a Director level.

    20% - Coordinates projects that support student learning, retention, and success. Leads outreach, recruitment, and engagement initiatives targeting current and prospective students. Represents the department at orientations, events, and student organization activities. Designs and delivers program materials, presentations, reports, and promotional content to support advising initiatives and increase student awareness of resources and pathways.

    15% - Supports the implementation of Guided Pathways and the case management model by serving as a resource for continuous improvement in advising. Collaborates with academic departments, student services teams, and district partners to deliver cohesive student support. Acts as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders. Contributes to the development and improvement of student success initiatives and related academic programming.

    10% - Participates in departmental meetings, training sessions, and college-wide professional development opportunities. Contributes to the overall effectiveness of the department by performing other duties as assigned, consistent with the scope and responsibilities of the position.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs.

    OR

    An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

    Desired Qualifications

    1. Master's Degree or higher

    2. Two (2) or more years of experience providing academic advising in a college or university setting.

    3. Two (2) or more years' experience with guided pathways, providing student support and academic program selection using Fields of Interest (meta-majors)?

    4. Two (2) or more years of experience in working with cohorts of students in higher education.

    5. One (1) year of experience using degree audit systems, advisement platforms, learning management systems (e.g., SIS, Canvas, ConexEd)

    6. One (1) or more years of supervision of a team
