Job description

We are seeking a Staff Accountant, CPA for a long-term contract role in the Galleria area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries across multiple business entities
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and process adjustments as needed
  • Support month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain and update financial statements, reports, and supporting documentation
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Research, analyze, and resolve discrepancies in accounting records
  • Generate and present ad hoc financial reports to support management decisions
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Finance, Operations, Contracts, and Engineering
  • Contribute to special projects and additional tasks based on business needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective problem-solver with strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel
  • Experience working in a multi-entity accounting environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Willingness to work extended hours during month-end close and audits
  • Ability to travel occasionally (limited travel required)

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA candidate or intention to pursue CPA
  • Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
  • Experience in the oil & gas or water midstream industries

    • Pay Details : $35.00 to $45.00 per hour
