We are seeking a Staff Accountant, CPA for a long-term contract role in the Galleria area.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries across multiple business entities
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and process adjustments as needed
- Support month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain and update financial statements, reports, and supporting documentation
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
- Research, analyze, and resolve discrepancies in accounting records
- Generate and present ad hoc financial reports to support management decisions
- Collaborate with internal teams including Finance, Operations, Contracts, and Engineering
- Contribute to special projects and additional tasks based on business needs
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceMinimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experienceStrong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standardsProven ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and accuracyEffective problem-solver with strong analytical and critical-thinking skillsProficient in Microsoft Office 365, especially ExcelExperience working in a multi-entity accounting environmentStrong communication skills, both written and verbalWillingness to work extended hours during month-end close and auditsAbility to travel occasionally (limited travel required)Preferred Qualifications
CPA candidate or intention to pursue CPAFamiliarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systemsExperience in the oil & gas or water midstream industriesPay Details : $35.00 to $45.00 per hour
