We are experiencing exponential growth and are seeking individuals with the drive to exceed expectations to join our team as a Project Technical Writer.
JOB SUMMARY :
The core purpose of the Technical Writer is to prepare, review, revise, professionally format, and maintain technical documents including systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation for various automation projects. Candidates should have a technical background with the ability to follow directions from engineers and create documentation templates to improve efficiency across projects.
This role involves working on all phases of documentation under the guidance of Project Managers or direct supervisors. Industry experience in baggage handling, knowledge of airport operations, and familiarity with PGDS standards are advantageous. The role requires interpreting engineering drawings, technical information, consulting with subject matter experts, and utilizing various resources to understand specific products or processes. The goal is to produce documentation that clearly communicates complex technical information per company standards and contract specifications.
The role also includes maintaining current internal documentation and the Knowledge Base library via SharePoint, using tools like MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Use of Document Management System (DMS) to ensure standards are consistently applied.
- Manage documentation tasks independently within organizational standards.
- Prioritize and manage documentation across multiple projects.
- Ensure high-quality technical documentation results.
- Read contracts to identify documentation obligations.
- Document and report work results according to standards.
- Manage customer documentation requirements and resolve related issues.
- Clarify customer targets and requirements per contract.
- Participate in lessons learned activities and communicate findings.
- Proactively notify teams of changes.
- Coordinate effectively with engineering and field teams to meet deadlines.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams.
- Perform other coordination responsibilities as needed.
