Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery Specialist - $2,812 per week

Job Title : Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery Profession : RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty : LDRP RN Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-Hour Days, Every Other Weekend Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery License : Current RN License Certifications : BLS NRP AWHONN Intermediate (Advanced preferred) STABLE Must-Have : 3 years of experience in LDRP Ability to titrate drips Experience with first-time travelers Willingness to jump right in Description : This position requires 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery. Nurses will be expected to provide care to obstetric, antepartum, triage, and postpartum patients. The unit has a total of 7 labor and delivery beds and 12 postpartum beds. There is a dedicated Cesarean section operating room available. Triage beds are also available for patient assessment. An average of 643 births occur annually. Nurses follow AWHONN guidelines for patient-to-nurse ratios : 1 : 1 to 1 : 2 in Labor and Delivery and 1 : 2 to 1 : 3 for postpartum. Common diagnoses include gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes, and other pregnancy-related complications. Travelers will be required to manage various medications and titrate common intravenous drips such as Pitocin and Magnesium. Both an OB and a Neontologist are available on call 24 / 7, along with in-house anesthesia support. The charge nurse does take an assignment and actively participates in deliveries. Nurses are expected to read telemetry strips, particularly during recovery phases. Scholars and additional support staff may be present to assist in various tasks. Shifts are rotational and scheduled in advance with consideration for sleep schedules. Weekend shifts are required every third weekend, and holiday shifts may be necessary as needed. Floating to other departments may be required based on staffing needs. Surgical scrubs will be provided for all staff. A high level of patient satisfaction is emphasized in this department. Candidates are expected to have flexibility and be adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
