About the Role

The Company is in need of a VP of Accounting to take on a pivotal role in overseeing all accounting functions with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the accounting department, including financial reporting, general ledger, and internal controls. This leadership position demands a proactive approach to process improvement and financial strategy, as well as the ability to provide strategic financial insights to executive leadership. The VP of Accounting will also be tasked with ensuring consistent and compliant accounting operations across a diverse real estate portfolio, managing close processes, and driving improvements in accounting processes, systems, and reporting to support business growth.

Applicants for the VP of Accounting role at the company must be CPAs with a strong foundation in audit and assurance from a public accounting firm, and possess extensive experience in commercial and industrial real estate accounting. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams, and experience with REITs and investor relations is essential. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with a Master's degree being a plus, and at least 15 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles. The VP of Accounting will also be responsible for ensuring accurate accounting for real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and lease accounting, and must be well-versed in GAAP and company policies.
