Bilingual Tax Preparer (Spanish / English)

This individual will work within a library and a church for help with tax assistance. The Site Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Tax Assistance site of volunteers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality tax preparation services to eligible taxpayers. This includes recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers, coordinating site logistics, and ensuring compliance with IRS standards.

• Oversee the setup, operations, and closing of site
• Ensure the site is equipped with necessary resources, including computers, forms, and supplies.
• Develop a schedule for site operations, including volunteer shifts.
• Recruit and train volunteers in collaboration with the IRS and other partners.
• Provide guidance and support to volunteers during site operations.
• Ensure all volunteers have passed required IRS certifications (Standards of Conduct, Basic, or Advanced).
• Review completed tax returns for accuracy and compliance with IRS quality standards.
• Serve as the escalation point for complex tax situations or client concerns.
• Ensure taxpayers' data is handled confidentially and securely.
• Adhere to IRS guidelines and program standards, including Quality Site Requirements (QSR).
• Maintain accurate records of site activity, including completed tax returns and volunteer hours.
• Submit required reports in a timely manner.
• Promote VITA services to the community through outreach and partnerships.
• Build relationships with local organizations to expand access to free tax assistance.
• Connects clients with any additional resources in the community.
• Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Fluent in Spanish - Speaking, Reading, Writing
• Basic understanding of tax law (prior tax preparation experience is a plus) preferred but not required
• Required to complete IRS Site Coordinator and tax preparer certification.

• Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50 / hr.
