We are seeking an Asbestos Worker for a position in the Hopewell, VA area. This position removes asbestos containing materials (ACM) from, but not limited to, boilers, pipes, tanks, vessels, exchangers, columns, floor tiles and proofing.

Essential Qualifications :

• High school or equivalent
• One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
• Basic Insulation skills
• Advanced knowledge of asbestos decontamination process
• Must have Asbestos Abatement Worker certification for state of IL
• Written pre-employment qualification test
• Post-offer drug / alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Hazard Communication orientation / test
• Turner Industries Group, LLC indoctrination
• OSHA approved corrective eyewear (Z87)
• Job site orientation
• Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
• Applicant / employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Functional Requirements :

Interprets blueprints, sketches, written and / or verbal orders, Estimates worker-hours and materials required to complete the job, Assigns duties, lines up and follows up all work and is responsible for production of the unit, Inspects work to ensure adherence to company standards, Trains and assists workers in the performance of their duties, Supervises and coordinates activities of assigned construction workers, Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations, Establishes and adjusts work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel, Analyzes and resolves work related problems, Implements project safety programs, May maintain time, production, and other records, May study schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion of job, May make cost estimates for contracts, Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement :
