Summary

This role functions as an emergency response medical professional, providing immediate medical care to individuals in distress due to accidents, violence, and sudden illnesses, including cardiac arrests or strokes. You will provide advanced life support care and maintain patient stabilization until transfer to an accepting medical facility.

Responsibilities :

• Represent the ambulance service during public events and provide standby services as necessary.
• Document complete patient assessments and treatment in the appropriate medical charting software.
• Deliver care to patients facing psychiatric, medical, and traumatic crises.
• Work collaboratively as a part of a two-member ambulance crew on emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Utilize emergency medical equipment such as bag valve mask resuscitators and external defibrillators for advanced life support.
• Assess the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses to establish priorities for medical procedures, including patient stabilization and moving from accident scenes.
• Follow dispatcher instructions to drive and operate medical emergency vehicles safely.
• Administer medications via injection, intravenous procedures, or orally under physician guidance.
• Engage with professional medical staff at receiving facilities to discuss treatment changes.
• Maintain a clean and decontaminated ambulance and report any infectious diseases according to protocols.

Physical Demands :

Ability to lift over 50 lbs, push / pull up to 140 lbs, and carry 80 lbs short distances. Frequent requirements include standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead.
