Overview
The Payroll Analyst is responsible for ensuring employees are paid accurately and that expenses are posting accurately to the general ledger. As well as ensuring the day-to-day operational activities are being performed by the standards and processes that have been defined.
Primary Responsibilities
- Compile and analyze payroll data to maintain payroll records including journal entries, month-end close procedures, and general ledger coding
- Balance payroll runs, produce federal, state, and local tax payments, and answer employee questions and troubleshoot issues
- Verify and reconcile accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings related to payroll(s)
- Complete monthly and yearly variance analysis and corresponding audits
- Maintain electronic / manual timesheets for backup recordkeeping
- Compute withholding, and deductions associated with net earnings (i.e. vacation benefits and 401(k))
- Review computed wages and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll(s) (weekly, semi-monthly, monthly)
- Submit accurate payroll data to corporate partners for processing
- Work with corporate partners to troubleshoot payroll errors and SAP software system data entry anomalies
Additional Primary Responsibilities
Review computed hours / wages and correct errors to ensure accuracy of payroll(s) (bi-weekly)Process all additional pay types, including external commissions, bonuses, incentives, variable compensation, and repaymentsProvide wage analysis to management to assist in position and headcount reportingProvide training to leadership personnel on Kronos timekeeping management as neededProvide benefit program assistance to employeesRecommend changes in Payroll policies and procedures to continue to improve inefficiencies with the departmentPerform other job-related duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of experience or equivalent education and related experienceProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteExperience performing manual journal entries and calculations. Familiarity with the Kronos timekeeping system & SAP payroll systemStrong organization, multi-tasking, and time management skillsIn house payroll systems experience with a high volume of employeesPhysical Demands
