Shift Structure : 3x12.0 hour shifts

Weekend, Holiday, On-Call, and Callback responsibilities

Charge nurse duties per unit needs

Start Date : 12 / 15 starts ONLY

Role Description

Level II Registered Nurse position under the direction of the Nurse Manager

Accountable for provision of competent care based on established standards

Responsibilities include clinical practice, service excellence, professional development, and research and evidence based practice

Assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities

Required Experience

MUST HAVE STEPDOWN EXPERIENCE

PCU Experience required

High acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience required

Two (2) Years Experience minimum

Telemetry Experience required

Specialized Skills Required

Q1 neuro checks

EVDs (External Ventricular Drains)

Lumbar drains

Sub-dural drains

3%NS and cardene drips

Arterial lines

Carotid endarterectomy

Aneurysm coil / clips

DBS Insertion (Deep Brain Stimulator)

VP shunts

Seizure management

Certifications and Licensing Requirements

RN License (NY License ONLY)

BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)

ACLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
