Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care - $2,611 per week in Arroyo Grande, CA

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : RN Specialty : ICU Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12H Nights Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required License : Active RN License required Certifications : ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have : - 2 years of ICU experience - Valid certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS Description : All nurses in the unit will be required to complete a proctored exam to assess basic EKG competency during orientation. The unit consists of 8 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 1 to 1 : 2. The EMR system used is Cerner. There is a charge nurse on day shifts who does not take a patient assignment. Night shifts have a shift leader. There are no nurse aides in the unit. Weekends are required every other weekend. Holidays will be rotated among permanent staff. Scrub color for staff is navy. Monitor technicians are available, but nurses must be able to read and interpret strips. Patients on the unit may require drips and ventilatory support. A hospitalist or intensivist is on call after hours. Respiratory therapy is available 24 / 7. Pharmacy operates on an 8-hour shift and is on call after hours. Shifts are 12 hours long from 7 PM to 7 AM. Nurses may float to tele or another unit, and they will be oriented to the new environment. Common diagnoses include sepsis, respiratory failure, congestive heart failure, and alcohol withdrawal. Travel experience is preferred for applicants. The cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment.
