Registered Nurse Job Details
Location : Augusta, GA 30901 (Georgia nursing jobs)
Healthcare Setting : Level III NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
Assignment Duration : 8 weeks (Start : 12 / 1 / 2025 – End : 1 / 26 / 2026)
Shift : 12-hour night shifts (19 : 00 – 07 : 00), 3 shifts per week
Hours per Week : 36
Estimated Weekly Salary : $1660 - $1700
Patient Ratio : 1 : 3
Unit Size : 40 beds, average daily census of 18
Self-Scheduling : Yes, with group rotation
Weekend Requirement : 4 shifts per 4 weeks
Call Requirement : 2-3 on-call shifts every 6 weeks
Scrub Color : Navy Blue
NICU RN Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent NICU Registered Nurse experience (Level III NICU preferred)
Travel nursing experience required
Active RN license in Georgia or Compact State (Georgia nursing license)
BLS and NRP certifications required
Proficiency with Epic charting system
Clinical skills : arterial line management, central / implanted line care, neonatal feeding (bottle, breast, gavage), isolation precautions, IV vasopressors, neonatal abstinence syndrome, ventilator management (AC / PC / SIMV / CPAP / BIPAP / PEEP), care for neonates 29-34 weeks
Ability to work major holidays as scheduled during assignment
Compliance with facility onboarding and orientation requirements
NICU Nurse Responsibilities
Provide high-quality, compassionate care to neonates with diverse medical needs
Monitor and manage premature and term infants with complications such as respiratory distress and hypoglycemia
Operate advanced NICU equipment (Giraffe Isolettes, Spacelabs monitors, HFOV, NINV, HHF)
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
Maintain accurate documentation using Epic and follow SBAR communication protocols
Participate in self-scheduling and group rotation for shift selection
Float to other units as needed (rare)
Participate in on-call rotation and weekend coverage
Adhere to all infection control and isolation precautions
