General Neurosurgeon – Peconic Bay Medical Center (Riverhead, NY)

Northwell Health’s Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a General Neurosurgeon to join our team at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, NY . This role will be based at Peconic Bay Medical Center, with integration and collaborative support from our established Neurosurgery team at South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, NY.

The ideal candidate will be Board Certified / Board Eligible in Neurological Surgery and must meet the medical licensure requirements for the state of New York. Northwell Health’s 21‑hospital system has a robust full‑time presence in its Eastern, Central, and Western Region hospitals, including North Shore University Hospital, LIJ Medical Center, Lenox Hill Hospital, Huntington Hospital, South Shore University Hospital, Cohen Children’s Hospital, and Staten Island University Hospital. An advanced Tele‑Neuro ICU service operates 24 / 7, and a Neuro Center categorization system assists in triage and referral of patients.

Founded in 1951 as Central Suffolk Hospital, Peconic Bay Medical Center is the largest hospital in Eastern Suffolk County and the Eastern Hub of Northwell Health. As a non‑profit 144‑bed community hospital, it serves as the primary resource for advanced healthcare services for over 250,000 residents in Riverhead, Eastern Central Suffolk County, and Long Island’s North Fork. The center provides the area’s only Interventional Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Suite, Level III Trauma Center, and NYUS‑Designated Stroke Center.

Full‑time clinical base compensation at Northwell Health ranges from $125 K to $750 K. This figure is influenced by physician specialty, experience, quality of care, academic accomplishments, patient experience, and productivity. The listed base compensation is a good‑faith determination at the time of this posting and may be modified in the future.
