Qualifications

Education and Experience : Bachelor's degree in education, business management, or a social or behavioral science and one year of full-time professional experience in educational instruction or training, behavioral instruction, or working with individuals with disabilities.

Substitution of Education for Experience : One year of qualifying graduate coursework in education, business management, or a social or behavioral science may be substituted for the required experience.

Substitution of Experience for Education : Additional qualifying full-time professional experience as listed above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for- year basis.

Necessary Special Qualifications : Applicants for this class must :

• Complete a criminal history disclosure form in a manner approved by the appointing authority;
• Agree to release all records involving their criminal history to the appointing authority;
• Supply a fingerprint sample prescribed by the TBI based criminal history records check;
• Submit to a review of their status on the Department of Health's vulnerable persons registry.

Overview

This classification is responsible for vocational rehabilitation behavioral instruction work of average difficulty. An employee in this class assesses student's interpersonal vocational skills, develops instructional curricula and student learning plans, selects and implements training methods, and evaluates students' progress. This classification performs responsibilities at the working level under general supervision.
