Job Summary The scope of work for a Respiratory Therapist includes assessment, therapeutic intervention and education for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders or associated complications. What you will do : - Assess patients to prevent, detect, monitor and manage disease and complications. - Measure patient's lung capacity to determine if there are any impairments. - Offer diagnosis results and treatment suggestions based on the analysis of the patient. - We have the ability to work in several clinical areas ranging from general floors to critical care. It takes all of us to make a difference. Qualifications Must be a registry eligible graduate of an approved program of Respiratory Care. Must fulfill annual continuing education requirements of the department. Must complete orientations, competency validations, and other in-services as required by the department. Unofficial transcripts from an approved school and a letter from the Program Director required prior to employment. Must obtain / have the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential per state licensure requirements. Must obtain the Registered Respiratory Therapist credential within six months of hire. Must maintain a valid or Temporary Permit to practice in Respiratory Care in state(s) of practice. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
