Equipment Maintenance Technician – Contract-to-Hire

Location : Santa Ana, CA

Pay Range : $26–$28 per hour (compensation within this range is determined based on experience, job level, and skill set)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our Mechanical Engineering team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that our production equipment runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You will take on a variety of responsibilities including scheduled preventative maintenance, urgent repairs, machine upgrades, and troubleshooting—working across mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for candidates seeking long-term stability in a dynamic, high-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Execute preventative maintenance (PM) tasks to ensure consistent equipment performance.
Partner with Engineering to develop, implement, and track PM schedules.
Respond to unplanned maintenance events and perform troubleshooting.
Assist in machine upgrades, testing, and related improvement projects.
Support the rollout of maintenance logs and operator-led maintenance systems.
Identify and suggest process and equipment improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to formalize and standardize maintenance procedures.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Who You Are

2+ years of hands-on experience in maintenance technician roles.

Strong mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical aptitude.

Comfortable working with industrial automation and factory systems.

Proficient in English (spoken and written); basic math skills required.

Able to use email, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office tools.

Curious mindset with a willingness to learn and ask questions.

Dependable and responsive to direction.

Prioritizes safety and attention to detail.

Capable of working in time-sensitive environments.

Physical Requirements

Movement : Bending, twisting, squatting, walking for long periods.

Equipment Use : Exposure to industrial machinery and noise.

Manual Work : Power gripping and using high-impact tools.

Computer Work : May involve extended periods of screen use.

Hearing & Vision : Must hear alarms and verbal cues clearly.

Lifting : Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Environment : Possible exposure to hot / cold and humid warehouse settings.

Posture : Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.
