SHIFT : Day Shift - No weekends

JOB TYPE : Full-Time Permanent

SALARY : $120k-$150k

Job Summary

As the Pediatric Emergency Department Manager, you will ensure high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the department. You will monitor and evaluate the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures, and hold staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives.

Job Responsibilities

• ensure adherence to standards of care, and ensure a culture of accountability and transparency in the provision of care
• support efforts to reduce variation in clinical practice and improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost
• support the achievement of internal and external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations
• ensure equipment maintenance is performed regularly and according to standards
• manage the admissions and discharge process to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care
• facilitate effective care coordination within and across departments, and ensure staff with appropriate clinical competencies are assigned to meet patient care needs
• manage the nursing practice and unit operations
• provide leadership to attain and sustain an excellent patient experience, and instill accountability for providing consistent, positive patient interactions
• review feedback mechanisms to identify areas of improvement, and support strategies that will elevate the patient experience
• ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
• support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when needed
• inspire commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the organization and implement employee engagement practices
• identify development opportunities or training needs of employees and teams, and provide coaching and feedback to improve performance
• attract, develop, engage, and retain talent to meet business needs
• be responsible for resolving or channeling employee grievances, disputes, or concerns
• participate in company-supported community and patient events and in-services
• manage staff scheduling in accordance with productivity guidelines
• manage operating expenses, identify cost reduction opportunities, and implement actions to achieve savings
