Purpose / Description

The Seasonal Public Service Maintenance Worker - A - 1 in the Roads Division will maintain highways, municipal and rural roads and rights-of-way. Duties include patching broken or eroded pavement, repairing guard rails, highway markers, and snow fences. The PSMW - A-1 may also mow or clear brush from a long road or plow snow from roadway. Employees may be required to work 12-hour shifts, alternating between morning and night schedules as needed.

Required Knowledge

• Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state for the protection of people, property, and institutions.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the repair of structures such as highways and roads.

Required Tasks

Operate construction equipment.

Hand Tools including drills, hammers, saws, pliers, etc...

Mistakes are not easily correctable and have serious consequences.

Requires work with others in a group or team.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Safe and acceptable driving record (No more than 7 points)
