About the Role
The Company is seeking a Head, Fitness to join their team. The successful candidate will be a dynamic fitness coach with a deep understanding of the demands placed on elite footballers. This role is pivotal in driving the performance improvements of players and the return-to-play process, requiring a high level of competence in strength and conditioning for elite athletes, as well as a deep understanding of injury pathology related to football. The Head, Fitness will be responsible for end-stage rehab in collaboration with medical staff, providing detailed insights and reporting on player loading and performance, leading the gym program, and designing individual injury mitigation programs. The role also involves supporting the integration of performance philosophy across all phases of the club and may include travel with the team.
The ideal candidate for the Head, Fitness position at the company will be authentic, a passionate leader, highly collaborative, adaptable, composed, enthusiastic, curious, selfless, and a creative problem solver. They should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, with a preference for a Master's degree, and at least 4 years of experience in elite soccer as a strength and conditioning coach, fitness coach, or player. Essential qualifications include a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or equivalent. The candidate should be prepared to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and be willing to travel with the team as required.
