Job Details

Assessment skills across Pediatric to Geriatric patients with thorough, systematic, and accurate assessments.

Consistent demonstration of competent clinical skills and direct patient care activities supporting patient care delivery and team concept.

Maintains complete and accurate documentation of nursing process and patient progress including patient education.

Demonstrates professional practice responsibility and knowledge of policies and procedures with identification of areas for clinical and professional growth.

Responds professionally and courteously to patients, families, and co-workers promoting a patient-centered environment and cooperative patient care team.

Follows National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and patient identification using two identifiers; uses safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics.

Knowledge of conditions, diagnoses, procedures, and equipment for surgical patients; individualizes care according to procedure and anesthesia type across continuum of care; assesses patient reaction and understanding of procedures and instructions.

Contributes to perioperative team by prioritizing and directing patient care based on patient needs and condition changes.

Assesses patient understanding of surgical procedures and instructions; includes patient and family in teaching; performs pre-operative and postoperative assessment and education.

Supports timely completion of patient testing; evaluates Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness based on surgery, patient age, and health status.

Physical requirements as defined by Occupational Safety / OMS.

Job Requirements

2 years critical care experience required.

RN License required.

Schedule Information

Contract length : 13 weeks.

Unit Specific Information

Unit involves care of surgical patients in Cath Lab setting.

Knowledge of surgical procedures, anesthesia types, and perioperative care required.

Supports Pre Admission Testing (PAT) processes.
