Yard Technician

Job Description

This position works primarily outside in all-weather environments. The Yard Technician must be knowledgeable on all types of farm and construction equipment. Safety is a top concern in this position. The Technician is responsible to load and unload all equipment from various types of transportation equipment. This position must have a mechanical background and be capable of starting and operating malfunctioning equipment at times. This position can work alone or in a team environment. This position operates telehandlers throughout the shift.  This position works Monday through Friday, 8am until 5 pm with a 1 hour lunch break.

Primary Functions –

Identify machinery by make, model, and various tag and serial numbers.

Complete necessary paperwork to ensure accuracy of inventory both inbound and outbound.

Operate machinery of all types and size consistent with OEM safety recommendations.

Handle machinery with care, ensuring no damage.

Provide for the safety of visitors and employees alike.

Load and unload all trucks inbound and outbound.

Assist in equipment placement in mechanic shops, yard and retail displays.

Secondary Functions –

Pick up local machinery when appropriately trained and licensed.

Assist in mechanic shop when required.

Assisting in the wash bay or washing when necessary

Assisting in other department when necessary.

Requirements

Physical Requirements –

This is an outside, all-weather environment.  You will work in dry and dusty, wet, cold, hot, muddy, icy and snowy conditions.

You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

You will work on various heights

You will get dirty. Showers are provided in the shop restroom.

Long durations of walking, standing, getting on and off equipment are expected.

Some bending, stooping, crouching, crawling is necessary as part of this position.
