American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position requiring a WI or compact license, basic arrhythmia skills, and recent Epic EMR experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is based in the Med / Surg Tele unit of a hospital settingPatient population includes post-surgical, medical-surgical, and telemetry cases, including specialized care for post-mastectomy and urinary diversion proceduresNight shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week, 19 : 00-07 : 30, with every other weekend requiredTravelers are the first to float and may be assigned to multiple units or locations based on staffing needsEpic EMR is used and current experience is requiredTelemetry monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation are requiredResponsibilities include monitoring and caring for patients undergoing specialized procedures such as free flap monitoring after mastectomy and providing education for post-surgical self-carePass / fail telemetry exam must be completed before starting, with up to two attempts allowed before additional remediation is requiredOrientation typically lasts about one week and may have rotating start dates based on department schedulesTravelers must have an active telemetry competency on file per calendar yearSubmission of references is not required for considerationHoliday coverage may be required according to unit guidelinesFirst-time travelers may be accepted on select units, subject to review\n \n Requirements\n
Active WI RN license or compact state RN license in hand at time of considerationBLS certification through the American Heart Association is requiredMinimum two years of recent acute care Med / Surg Tele experience within the last three yearsBasic arrhythmia skills and ability to pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, with strict pass / fail criteriaEpic EMR experience preferred within the last 12 monthsCandidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the primary work siteLocals are not accepted for this assignment\n Benefits\n
