Who we are looking for :

We are currently looking for a Shipping Manager. You will be responsible for managing a team of employees by being a key leader of the Shipping department and the Plant Management Team at our Dallas, TX facility. This role will also prepare the daily shipping schedule for carriers, monitor productivity of the Shipping department, and communicate with Customer Service regarding order status.

What you'll do :

• Identify work procedures; prepare work schedules and expedite workflow
• Examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures
• Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency
• Review pipe orders to determine truckload space / percentage and if a fill is needed
• Communicate with CSR regarding fills and order status when requested
• Coordinate product needs with Production Manager / Plant Manager
• Communicate with shipping personnel regarding incoming deliveries or special instructions
• Negotiate freight rates and search for additional carriers for backup
• Manage and oversee inventory control processes
• Report inventory discrepancies to Inventory Control
• Strong knowledge of JD Edwards for shipping utilization

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $ 81,440 - $111,980 . Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
