We are seeking an experienced Cardiology Physician Assistant for a 10-day locum tenens position in New York. This assignment begins on Jan 2, 2026, and features 12-hour shifts with a mix of days and nights. Flexibility is required, as schedules will be determined by the client based on coverage needs. Job Details Location : New York Start Date : Jan 2, 2026 LOA : 10 days Provider Type Needed : Cardiology Physician Assistant Schedule : 12-hour shifts, mix of days and nights; flexibility required as shifts may change based on coverage needs Responsibilities and Duties Manage ambulatory cardiology cases, including preoperative and postoperative care for catheterization, electrophysiology studies, stress testing, and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) Perform and manage pre-procedure and post-procedure cardiac catheterization assessments Oversee preoperative and postoperative care for mitral clip, ASD closures, and Watchman procedures Administer IV medications and manage medication drips Write admission, daily progress, and discharge notes; reconcile medications; order and renew medications Obtain patient consent and provide education on procedures and medications, including contrast prophylaxis protocols Order imaging studies such as CT, MRI, ECHO, and routine laboratory work Perform EKGs, interpret results, and conduct arterial blood gas (ABG) determinations Insert and manage venous lines, feeding tubes, Foley catheters, nasogastric tubes, and perform phlebotomy and venipuncture Remove central venous pressure lines, surgical and non-surgical dressings, drains, staples, and sutures Initiate consultation requests and participate in interdisciplinary rounds and treatment planning Manage patients on antiarrhythmic therapy (including Tikosyn and Sotalol) and direct admissions Admit patients requiring overnight monitoring and provide sign-outs to receiving teams Collaborate daily with cardiology attendings and fellows; provide coverage for stress tests Receive cardiac patients from the ED post-catheterization for discharge management Review and request outside reports and coordinate patient transfers for advanced cardiac care Additional Information Active New York state license required Cardiology board certification required Flexibility in scheduling is essential for this assignment Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
