Because what we do here is important, but how we do it is everything.  THE PRODUCTION TEAM This team manages all union and office field employees, coordinating between the IBEW and job sites as needs vary and change.  ABOUT THE ROLE Cupertino Electric is seeking an experienced IBEW Electrical Foreman to lead electrical teams in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems on large commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. The Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily operations on job sites, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering projects on time and within budget. This position requires strong leadership, deep technical knowledge, and effective communication with crew members, management, and other trades.

  • Lead and supervise a team of Journeyman electricians, apprentices, and laborers on-site to ensure all work is completed in accordance with project plans, codes, and company standards.
  • Plan, organize, and assign work to ensure efficient use of labor and materials on the job site.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications to determine job requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Oversee the installation of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and specialized equipment.
  • Coordinate with other trades and project managers to ensure seamless integration of electrical work into overall project timelines and deliverables.
  • Monitor job progress, resolve technical and personnel issues, and make adjustments as needed to stay on schedule and budget.
  • Maintain detailed daily work reports, track labor hours, and provide updates to the General Foreman or Superintendent on project status.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems, identify solutions, and direct the crew to implement repairs or modifications.
  • Ensure that the team follows all safety protocols, conducts regular safety meetings, and maintains a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
  • Mentor and train apprentice electricians, providing guidance and developing their skills on the job.
  • Order and manage the necessary tools, equipment, and materials to complete the job.
  • Review and approve timecards, ensuring proper allocation of labor hours and resources.
  • Maintain open communication with project management, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure the success of each project.

ABOUT YOU You have a strong understanding of electrical systems, construction processes, and the National Electrical Code (NEC). You possess a proven ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documents. Your demonstrated leadership skills enable you to manage and motivate teams effectively. You exhibit effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle complex issues on the job site. You have knowledge of OSHA safety standards and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Your experience in project scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation sets you apart. You are proficient in the use of electrical tools, equipment, and software related to electrical project management. You excel in working collaboratively with project managers, other trades, and clients, and you have excellent communication and organizational skills.  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

  • IBEW Journeyman Electrician Certification required, Foreman experience preferred.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a Foreman or similar supervisory role on commercial, industrial, or infrastructure electrical projects.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience managing large-scale commercial or industrial electrical projects.
  • Certification in OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety training.
  • Proficiency with project management software or electrical estimation tools.
  • Ability to conduct crew evaluations and performance assessments.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand, kneel, walk, and work in various physical conditions for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
  • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
  • Must have reliable transportation to various job sites.
