The unit has a mixed acuity, serving both intermediate care and telemetry / medical-surgical patients. Patients may require prolonged chemotherapy infusions, and TPE patients may be accepted based on staffing availability. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4 for both day and night shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with medical-surgical assignments. The role requires EPIC experience and a willingness to float within the scope of practice. There is support from a charge nurse available 24 / 7, who rarely has a patient assignment. Phlebotomy services are provided, and nurses will pull from central lines when applicable. Clinical resource nurses are available for assistance on all shifts. Successful candidates must be willing to work weekends on a rotating basis and be available for holiday shifts as needed. Time off requests must meet specific guidelines, especially during peak times in August. Candidates should expect monthly audits for compliance related to pain scoring.
