CT / X-Ray Technologist – Nights | 7 On / 7 Off
Schedule
7 on / 7 off
Weekdays : 8 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM
Weekends (Sat & Sun) : 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM
Schedule runs Wednesday 8 PM → following Wednesday 7 AM
Hours total : 36 hours (Week 1)
44 hours (Week 2)
80 hours guaranteed per 7-day rotation (not 40 hours per week)
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Provides health care services utilizing radiographic energy and advanced computer processing to assist in diagnosis and treatment. Performs CT and diagnostic radiography to produce high-quality sectional anatomic images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment, adheres to medical ethics, and provides patient-centered care ensuring safe, accurate, and timely imaging.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs CT procedures, CTA studies, contrast injections, and general diagnostic x-ray imaging.
Works under supervision of the Department Manager to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care across all age populations (infants through geriatrics).
Reviews and corroborates clinical history for proper procedure selection; ensures documentation is complete.
Prepares and positions patients for imaging procedures to ensure optimal comfort and diagnostic results.
Operates CT, radiographic, and related equipment; selects appropriate protocols and exposure factors.
Applies radiation safety principles to protect patient, self, and others.
Assumes responsibility for physical and emotional needs of patients during procedures.
Verifies informed consent and assists licensed practitioners during interventional radiographic and CT procedures.
Applies aseptic technique and performs / assists with venipuncture as permitted by state law.
Administers contrast media as prescribed (per ND statute and facility policy).
Evaluates images for technical quality and ensures proper identification and documentation.
Maintains digital image archives and PACS records.
Performs BLS per emergency response requirements.
Educates patients and supports their understanding of procedures.
Maintains confidentiality, accurate records, and compliance with HIPAA.
Reports equipment malfunctions, participates in quality assurance programs, and maintains department competencies.
Provides instruction to students or other healthcare personnel as needed.
Observes Standard Precautions and infection control practices.
Rotates weekends, holidays, evenings, and call-back as required.
Position classified as OSHA Category I (exposure to bloodborne pathogens).
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
1. Education & Licensure
Graduate of an accredited Radiography program
ARRT (R) required
North Dakota Radiologic Technologist License required
ARRT (CT) preferred; CT experience required
2. Experience
Minimum 2+ years of clinical radiography / CT experience
Must have experience in CT, including :
CTA
Contrast administration / injections
Emergency / trauma CT imaging
Experience completing high-acuity scans independently
3. Skills & Abilities
Strong ability to judge image quality and adapt to varying patient conditions.
High level of independent judgment, especially in trauma / code situations.
Excellent interpersonal communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary medical staff.
Ability to work independently; responsible for own work output.
Must safeguard patient rights and maintain privacy / confidentiality.
4. Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs.
Visual and manual dexterity required for image review and equipment operation.
Ability to meet fast-paced, often stressful imaging demands.
Frequent exposure to infectious diseases, odors, and hazardous materials; standard precautions required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
State-of-the-art imaging environment; clean, well-lighted areas.
Frequent interruptions; requires strong focus and adaptability.
Exposure to bloodborne pathogens (OSHA Category I).
Rotation includes nights, weekends, holidays, and potential call-backs.
ADDITIONAL SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must have :
ARRT certification
ND license
CT experience (CTA and injections)
2+ years clinical experience
No more than 5 days of RTO allowed; all must be included at submission.
Criminal history disclosure required (excluding minor traffic violations).
Confirm whether candidate requires any time off during the assignment.
