Position Summary : The MRI Technologist is a graduate of an accredited AMA-approved program and registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with MRI certification. The technologist maintains a valid state license and is responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging studies on patients as ordered by a physician. The role involves preparing patients, operating MRI equipment, ensuring patient safety, and producing high-quality diagnostic images under the direction of a Radiologist and in accordance with site-specific protocols.Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Perform MRI exams in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols.Prepare and position patients accurately and comfortably for imaging procedures.Operate MRI scanners and related equipment (e.g., injector systems, coils, monitoring devices).Screen patients for safety and contraindications related to MRI (e.g., implants, devices, metal).Maintain safety protocols regarding magnetic field exposure and infection control.Accurately document and archive imaging studies within the EMR / PACS systems.Monitor equipment performance and report issues to onsite leadership.Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and staff.Participate in night shift rotations and maintain flexibility for weekend or holiday coverage.Requirements : Education & Experience : Graduate of an accredited Radiologic or MRI Technology program (AMA-approved).Minimum 1 year of recent MRI experience in an acute care setting preferred.Certifications : ARRT Certification in MRI - RequiredState License - Required (if applicable in assignment state)BLS - RequiredACLS - RequiredPALS - RequiredCPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) - RequiredPreferred Skills : Experience with multiple MRI platforms (GE, Siemens, Philips, etc.).IV insertion and contrast administration competency.Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and MRI safety.Adaptability to new workflows and fast-paced environments.Excellent patient service and communication skills.Working Conditions : Clinical, inpatient, and outpatient hospital settings.Requires extended periods of standing and the ability to assist in patient positioning and transfer.Exposure to magnetic fields and healthcare environments (with appropriate safety measures).Night shift schedule (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM), including possible weekends / holidays.
