Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

Location : Galesburg, Illinois 61401

Healthcare Setting : Acute Care – Cardiac Stepdown Unit

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 8 / 2025 – End : 3 / 9 / 2026)

Nursing Shift : 8-hour days, Monday–Friday, 6 : 30am–3 : 00pm (No weekends or holidays)

Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week

Estimated Weekly Salary : $2,560–$2,750

Charting System : EpicCare Inpatient – EMR 2014 Certified EHR Suite

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or compact state

BLS certification (AHA required)

Minimum 1 year of recent cardiac stepdown or cardiovascular intensive care experience

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients

Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in cardiac patient conditions

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians

Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR system

Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes

Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, procedures, and recovery plans
