Med / Surg LPN Job Details

Healthcare Setting : Surgical / Trauma Med / Surg Unit (36 beds)

Assignment Length : 13-week LPN travel contract

Start Date : November 24, 2025

End Date : February 23, 2026

Shift : 12-hour days (7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM)

Hours per Week : 36

Weekend Requirement : Minimum 2 weekends per 4-week period

On-Site Position

Estimated Weekly Salary : $940 - $1010

Med / Surg LPN Qualifications

Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in Texas or compact state

At least 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience required

BLS certification required

IV Certification required

ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certifications preferred

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment

Must wear navy scrubs

Med / Surg LPN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to surgical and trauma patients, including ortho, neurosurgery, colorectal, general surgery, gynecology (non-maternal), and urology cases

Manage patient assignments of 4-6 patients per nurse

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including RNs, PCTs, and unit coordinators

Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transitions of care in a high-throughput Med / Surg unit

Perform standard Med / Surg nursing procedures and utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems

Promote a positive, team-oriented culture and contribute to the unit’s reputation for clinical excellence
