Registered Nurse – Intensive Care - ICU - Travel - (ICU RN)

Pay Rate : $1995.35 - $2198.96

CLINICAL INTERVIEWING

General Information :

Floating within TG to all MSU, ED Holding & willing to float to Allenmore as needed (2.5 miles apart)

1 year minimum experience if they have travel experience. 2 years if no travel experience.

Patient Types Travelers Expected to Care For :

Covid Patients

Post-Surgical Patients : GI Surgeries, Ortho, Gynecology

Medical Patients : COPD, CHF, DVT, AKI

Travelers Not Expected to Care for :

Travelers are not expected to administer chemotherapy (must be certified)

Patient Ratios : 1 : 4-5

Certifications : BLS

Skills required :

Surgical : Post-op Ortho, Neuro (joint replacement, ORIF, Laminectomy, Fusion), general post-surgical patients (cholecystectomy, appendectomy), GI Surgeries (hemicolectomy, resection), Wound dressing changes, General Drains, Ostomies, Traches (stable), Bariatric Surgery.

General : Basic rhythm interpretation, IV Antibiotics, heparin drips, nebulizer treatments, CIWA

Support on the Unit :

CNA support 1 : 10-12

Centralized Telemetry Monitoring with tele tech 24 / 7

Hospitalist, RT 24 / 7

Charting System :

Epic – Experience IS REQUIRED

Scheduling :

Schedule is typically made for 3-weeks at a time, which comes out 7-10 days prior

Every other weekend

Could work back to back weekends (rare)

No self- scheduling, no guarantee of patterned schedule

Time off : Manager Approval for more than 5 days.

Floating :

2R (12 beds) / 4R (19 beds) / 5R (19 beds)

6R (36 beds) / 7O (16 beds)

ED Holding

Any open MS surge areas

Traveler could float to Allenmore Hospital as needed, around 2.5 miles away. This is not common but is a possibility. Travelers should be notified in advance if they are needed at Allenmore.

Orientation :

1 day general hospital orientation

1 day of unit orientation (12 hours) on MS unit

1 day of orientation of like units (12hrs)

Traveler Telemetry Competency Required

Required to be completed and passed prior to start. SimpliFi Compliance is responsible for grading this exam.

Other notes :

Scrubs : Any color, professional

Parking : Free within designated areas

Must fill out whiteboards, do and document hourly rounding, give bedside report

Saline Flushes considered medication. Do not leave at the bedside or in your scrub pocket

Do not leave medications in unlocked cart.

When wasting medications, two-nurse verification is required. (Narcotics, Benzodiazepine, etc.)

Documenting pain before and after giving pain medication (30 minutes for IV, 1 hour for oral

Breaks are required
