Description :

The position involves working in a Post Anesthesia Care Unit.

You will be responsible for recovering patients following surgical procedures.

The patient to nurse ratio is 1 to 1 according to ASPAN guidelines.

You may be required to take a charge nurse assignment if necessary.

You will need to be able to read and interpret cardiac strips.

Knowledge of ventilators is essential, and troubleshooting skills are required.

Shifts may vary based on department needs.

A rotating holiday schedule will be required.

The common cases to recover include ENT, urology, orthopedic, general surgery, gynecology, endoscopy, and dental procedures.

You may encounter pediatric patients, although experience with them is not mandatory.

Patients requiring intensive care will be transferred to the ICU for recovery.

Teamwork is crucial in this role.

The ability to work well with colleagues is essential for success.

Weekend and on-call requirements are included in the job expectations.

Please ensure familiarity with both Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery protocols.

This is a fast-paced and demanding environment that requires your full commitment.
