Summary :
As a dedicated Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to patients in the Day Surgery Unit. Your responsibilities will involve both routine and complex nursing tasks, where you'll demonstrate your ability to manage clinical situations, prioritize patient needs, and contribute effectively to team dynamics.
Responsibilities :
- Embrace the key competencies of the CHRISTUS system, including being a Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Utilize the nursing process per ANA standards, ensuring thorough assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for your assigned patients.
- Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families, adapting your approach based on their requirements.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols, monitoring patients for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Assess patient and family education needs and provide appropriate guidance and resources.
Job Requirements : Education / Skills
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.Experience
A minimum of 1 year of experience in a relevant nursing specialty is preferred.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
BLS certification is required.Current RN license in the state where you will be employed or a compact license.Position Requirements :

All newly hired experienced RNs must participate in New Nurses Orientation within their first 30 days of employment.New hires will be precepted by a trained staff member, with initial onboarding validated through competency assessments.Complete all annual competency verification requirements to maintain high standards of care.Experience
A background in a perioperative RN residency or recent practice in an OR / Perioperative setting is highly preferred.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Current ACLS certification is required.Current PALS or ENPC certification is required.Along with your qualifications, you will be expected to obtain necessary certifications for your role within prescribed timeframes.
