EMS Dispatcher I
Location : San Antonio, TX
Schedule : Monday-Friday, Daytime | Full-Time | In-Person
What You'll Be Doing
- Operate an EMS Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) console, multi-line phone system, and computer terminal.
- Answer incoming calls, gather critical information, and accurately enter details into the dispatch system.
- Relay call information to dispatchers and other communications staff promptly and clearly.
- Transfer calls or coordinate with appropriate departments as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing concerns and offering solutions.
- Document all call notes, times, and outcomes accurately.
- Coordinate with outside agencies to arrange mutual aid when required.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient, employee, and company information in compliance with HIPAA.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Communications leadership.
What You'll Need
High school diploma or GED.Familiarity with local geography, including highways and major streets.Strong multitasking ability with calm, clear decision-making under pressure.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Proficiency in typing and computer navigation.Prior dispatch or EMS experience preferred but not required - full training provided.Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience as an EMT or in emergency communications.Knowledge of medical terminology.What's In It For You

This position is office-based within our Communications Center. You'll be part of a fast-paced, team-oriented environment that's central to our mission of providing timely, compassionate care to our community. Physical demands include occasional lifting up to 25 pounds and extended periods of sitting, standing, or walking.
