General Summary :
The Nuclear Med Tech performs nuclear medicine procedures, schedule procedures, and be able to initiate new procedures. The Nuclear Medicine Tech must demonstrate thorough knowledge of the human anatomy, physiology, as well as image quality. This position must be able to communicate to patients the nature of the exam and relieve their anxiety. The Nuclear Med Tech must demonstrate an understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques.
Main Responsibilities :
Orders all radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with the RAM proper voltage, current and desired exposure tie as dictated by physicianExplains testing procedures to patientAdministers therapeutic amounts of radiopharmaceuticalsMonitors the patient’s condition after and after scan to ensure patient safety and comfortMaintains records of receipt administration and disposal of RadiopharmaceuticalsAdheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safetyPrepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals for use in diagnostic and therapeutic proceduresPerforms quality control and maintains equipment and reports areas of concern to appropriate managerTakes ownership of assignments; other duties as assigned or requested.Education / Experience / Knowledge :
A graduate of an accredited School of Nuclear MedicineAt least 2 years of related experience preferredCertified Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification (CNMT)Registered X-ray Technologist ARRT (R), (NM)Current ACLS or BCLS certificationMust function efficiently and pleasantly under pressureCommunicate effectively with different types of peopleX-ray experience is preferred.Working knowledge of computers, keyboarding, and various programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).Key Competencies :
