Title : Core Engineering - Materials Engineer III
Location : Redmond, WA
Meta Client Responsibilities :
- Drive the development of next-generation optoelectronic materials through advanced design, fabrication, and analysis to validate new concepts and assess their potential impact.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the broader Client Reality Labs Research team to understand and address current goals, limitations, and bottlenecks within the wider AR / VR ecosystem.
- Design and explore novel techniques for crystal growth, processing, and analysis, with a focus on specific components and devices.
- Clearly communicate research results to both internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Assist in transitioning research discoveries into practical applications for Client product development.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Physics, Chemistry, Optical Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant technical field2+ years of experience in at least one of the following areas : ChemistryMaterials Science (with a focus on organic materials)Crystallization and NucleationSolid State AnalysisOptoelectrical Materials2+ years of experience in experimental laboratory work, demonstrating the ability to translate and adapt concepts to a bench-top environment.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with optical measurement and analysis (examples : refractometry and / or ellipsometry) is highly preferred.Experience with solid-state analysis techniques (e.g., diffuse reflectance, XRD, spectroscopy, DSC, optical microscopy).Experience utilizing crystallographic software suites (e.g., CCDC suite, BGMN, Profex, Olex2).Experience with chromatographic techniques such as HPLC, LC-MS, and / or GC.Experience working and communicating effectively in a cross-functional team setting.Proven track record of significant achievement, demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, or first-authored publications in relevant high-impact journals.
