Job description

General Description :

The Director of Construction and Project Management is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing multiple capital projects, ensuring customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. This role involves supporting project management throughout the project lifecycle to keep delivery and expenditures within scope, budget, and organizational capabilities. The director collaborates with leadership to develop project strategies, lead infrastructure projects, and manage organizational change, specifically supporting the manufacture of dairy-related products.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to project teams for successful project execution.
  • Guide stakeholders in budgeting, scheduling, and scoping projects effectively.
  • Manage projects from initiation through closing, ensuring proper documentation and communication.
  • Maintain comprehensive records related to budgets, schedules, risks, and quality.
  • Oversee project cost accounting, including tracking quotes, purchase orders, and forecasts.
  • Develop and share detailed project plans with all stakeholders.
  • Report on key performance metrics regularly to leadership.
  • Propose actions to reduce risks, enhance value, and improve performance.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Lead capital project planning and strategic initiatives, supporting innovation and operational improvements.
  • Develop industry expertise to support strategic initiatives and product launches.
  • Partner with departments to foster innovation and support company goals.
  • Ensure achievement of objectives and optimal resource utilization.
  • Support employee development through coaching and mentoring.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, balancing quality, safety, productivity, and morale.
  • Enforce GMPs and ensure compliance with policies, SOPs, and legal requirements.
  • Verify proper training and adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain sanitary work environments and biosecurity measures.
  • Foster a positive work environment and effective communication across departments.
  • Lead safety initiatives, conduct incident investigations, and implement corrective actions.

Essential Knowledge and Skills :

  • Proficiency in applying mathematical concepts and measurements.
  • Strong organizational skills for documentation and communication.
  • Ability to handle inquiries from employees, vendors, and customers appropriately.
  • Effective communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Understanding of company mission, goals, and operational procedures.
  • Completion of all required company training.
  • Ability to interpret company documents and UPC / code information.
  • Performance Standards :

  • Punctuality and communication regarding absences or tardiness.
  • Maintain professional appearance and adhere to GMP dress code.
  • Compliance with company policies and safety standards.
  • Complete assigned tasks efficiently and thoroughly.
  • Work Schedule :

  • Occasional work outside regular hours may be required.
  • Advance notice and approval needed for scheduled time off.
  • Typically scheduled for 40 hours / week, with potential for more based on business needs.
  • Environmental Concerns :

  • Protection from weather, with possible exposure to temperature extremes.
  • Potential exposure to food ingredients, allergens, chemicals, and sanitation agents.
  • Physical Job Requirements :

  • Mobility throughout all facility areas.
  • Use of personal protective equipment as required.
  • Ability to perform job functions involving standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs without assistance), and other physical activities.
  • Visual acuity sufficient for job tasks.

  • The salary range for this role is approximately $125,000 to $152,500, based on factors such as experience, skills, and organizational needs.
