Monday-Friday | 8 : 00 AM-4 : 30 PM | Will rotate weekend shifts. 1-2 weekend days in 6 weeks. Not the whole weekend.

JOB SUMMARY
The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The employee may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below; and specific functions may change from time to time.
Responsible for providing therapy services consistent with licensure to clients including evaluation of patient, establishing plan of care, implementing treatment, directing and educating patient and / or caregiver and documentation of the above.
Supervise therapy assistants, technicians, students, and volunteers as applicable.
Communicate with other health care providers regarding client care and treatment plans.
Provide training and education for hospital staff as requested.
Complete patient documentation in a timely manner to meet regulatory and organizational requirements.
Attend continuing education programs and present findings to appropriate staff as applicable.
Review and complete all insurance authorization requirements for patients in a timely manner.
Assist with performance improvement for rehab department and hospital.
Understand use and precautions of any treatments and equipment used.
Positively contributes to the departmental financial performance / productivity.
Patient Care : Delivers care that is consistent with the team member's discipline in accordance with the specific therapy practice act, guidelines, and code of ethics of the respective organization, i.e., APTA, ASHA, AOTA.
Teamwork : Develops and maintains positive relationships with team members and coworkers.
Technical Competency : Demonstrates technical competencies and job knowledge as it pertains to rehabilitative care.
The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education : Bachelor'sDegree or higher from an accredited OT program.
Experience : No experience necessary. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.
Licensure : VirginiaState Occupational Therapy license or Compact Privilege.

The job requires standing and walking constantly and frequently bending / stooping. Frequent repetitive body movements. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift / push / pull up to 50 lbs. For any weight over 35 lbs., use Safe Handling Equipment.
