Job Description :
- Functions as a member of the clinical patient care team performing tasks and procedures consistent with the training and licensure of a Medical Oncologist / Hematologist
- Experience practicing Radiation Oncology with a strong record (or an excellent recent graduate)
- Demonstrated practice-building experience is preferred
- Possible leadership opportunity and the ability to build the practice
- Practice Setting : Outpatient at Free-Standing Cancer Center - BEAUTIFUL FACILITY!
- Reason for coverage : Physician retirement / relocations
- Most benign Hematology is referred out as we are focusing on getting new solid tumor diagnosis seen timely (within 1 week of referral).
- Demographics for this area are roughly 20% Hematology, 80% Oncology.
- Number of Physicians in Practice : 3 currently
- Will There be Radiation Oncologists Present? Yes
- How Many APPs Provide Coverage : 2 currently
- Average Number of Patients Per Day - OUTPATIENT (Clinic / Office) : 10-15
- Average Number of Patients Per Day - HOSPITAL (Call / Rounding) : Only when patients are admitted for inpatient chemo
- Trauma Level / Designation (Hospital) : III
- Required Duties : participation on a Tumor Board, orders tests, orders images, prescribes
- Administration of Chemotherapy : by Physician
- Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position
- Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment
- Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public
- Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision
