Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A part-time position is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to provide specialized educational support within a K-12 school setting in Arlington, WA. This role is ideal for educators with experience in visual impairment services seeking a contract opportunity for the uping school year.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored for students who are visually impaired.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to modify curriculum and materials.
  • Provide direct instruction in orientation, mobility, and assistive technology.
  • Conduct assessments to monitor students progress and adapt teaching strategies.
  • Advocate for students inclusion and accessibility needs within the school environment.

Qualifications :

  • Valid teaching certification with endorsement or specialized training in Visual Impairment.
  • Experience working with visually impaired students across K-12 grade levels.
  • Strong munication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive tools for vision loss.
  • Ability to develop engaging lesson plans and instructional materials suited for diverse learners.
