Job Description :
The Department of Psychology welcomes applications for a non-tenure track faculty position as an Assistant Teaching Professor with expertise at the intersection of Psychology and Neuroscience. Skillful teaching is a key responsibility and we seek candidates whose teaching mentorship and service demonstrate a commitment to the inclusion of all students and to the excellence of our academic community. The successful candidate will be qualified to teach core psychology electives psychology courses in their area of expertise and 2-3 courses per year that contribute directly to the exciting new interdisciplinary Neuroscience major. We especially welcome applicants whose disciplinary background includes behavioral neuroscience neuropsychology or closely aligned areas bridging Psychology and Neuroscience. The course load is six (6) courses over two (2) semesters. The position begins July 1 2026.
At Wake Forest teaching professors hold a renewable position contingent on successful annual reviews with an initial appointment of two years. Teaching Professors are fully integrated members of the Wake Forest faculty with 9-month full-time appointments and eligibility for promotion through the ranks of Assistant Associate and Full. Like all faculty they are expected to support the Wake Forest University mission through service to the department the College of Liberal Arts and the University.
Position Qualifications :
An earned Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely related field is required for the position; ABD candidates are invited to apply. Qualified applicants will demonstrate their ability to teach courses in psychology and neuroscience practice pedagogical excellence in their area(s) of expertise and contribute to an academic environment that fosters learning and growth for all its stakeholders.
