JOB TITLE : Plant Manager
LOCATION :
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES
- Manages the overall production and supports activities of a remote facility to ensure that NIC objectives in safety, efficiency, volume, cost, and quality are achieved.
- Responsible for setting production schedules, staffing plans and establishes key metrics to ensure all activities are in line with overall facility objectives.
- Responsible for building an inclusive culture of high integrity, teamwork, commitment to excellence and customer focused intensity; coach performance through communication, documentation and consequence up to termination of employment.
- Interviews, hires and recommends wage adjustments for reporting personnel.
- Ensures adequate training of employees.
- Establishes culture of Continuous Improvement, including Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma Problem Solving, Preventative and Corrective Action processes.
- Develops and sustains 5S / Visual workplace organization, including material flow and inventory management tools.
- Ensures Facility and Production Equipment are satisfactorily maintained to meet reliability, safety and efficiency objectives.
- Highly developed communication skills required ensuring high level of customer satisfaction, internal team and remote leadership and resources stay in synch and focused on relevant priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.Eight (8) years in a manufacturing environment and 5+ years in a manufacturing leadership role.Demonstrated problem solving abilities and creativity required.A broad understanding of and experience with varied production processes a plus.Experience in a Metal Fabrication and Assembly environment a plus.Proven Continuous Improvement track record, with expertise in Lean, 5S and Six Sigma implementation desirable.PHYSCIAL DEMANDS
