Data Center Technician Night Shift

Location : Northlake, IL 60164

Shift : Night Shift B 12-hour shifts

Option 1 : ThursdaySaturday
Option 2 : WednesdaySaturday

Rate : $27-32 / hour

Type : 6 month Contract to Hire

About the Role

We are seeking a Data Center Technician to join our team and support critical infrastructure operations during night shifts. This role involves hands-on work with hardware components, troubleshooting, and ensuring smooth data center functionality.

Responsibilities

Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns of hardware (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches) following detailed instructions, checklists, and standard protocols.

Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting to quickly identify issues and replace faulty components.

Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) with minimal guidance.

Communicate, report, and escalate incidents according to established procedures.

Required Skills & Experience

12 years of experience in Helpdesk, Desktop Support, or IT hardware roles.

Strong technical aptitude and eagerness to learn.

Reliable, committed, and proactive go-getter attitude.

Ability to work night shifts (12-hour schedule as listed above).

Nice to Have

Previous experience in a data center environment.
