Job Title : Travel RN – Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Facility : Los Alamos Medical Center, Los Alamos, NM Shift : 6 : 30 AM – 2 : 00 PM

Overview : Los Alamos Medical Center is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will provide specialized nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical and procedural interventions, ensuring safe transitions and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities :

Monitor patients’ vital signs and recovery status post-anesthesia.

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including pain management.

Assess patient readiness for discharge or transfer to inpatient units.

Provide patient and family education regarding post-operative care and recovery.

Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records.

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.

Adhere to hospital policies, infection control, and safety standards.

Qualifications :

Current RN license in the state of New Mexico or compact state eligibility.

Minimum of 2+ years of recent PACU or critical care experience required.

BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred.

Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical recovery environment.

Travel contract position

Shift : 6 : 30 AM – 2 : 00 PM
