We are looking for a Tax Manager to join our Closely Held Business (CHB) Practice group, focusing on Construction. This candidate will oversee the tax preparation and technical review process, as well as other tax consulting matters, for complex closely held businesses in the construction industry ensuring compliance with state and federal tax regulations. Tasks will include leading the tax team, advising, researching and identifying tax issues, and recommending solutions to complex customer issues. The Tax Manager will delegate and manage tax assignments and perform administrative duties. The Tax Manager is responsible for training, supporting, supervising, motivating, and reviewing the work of the tax team.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and sustaining excellent customer relationships
  • Consulting on various tax matters proactively
  • Communicating progress, problems, and resolutions to clients
  • Monitoring economic performance of engagements, including billing and collections
  • Collaborating cross-functionally within the firm to grow existing business and offer solutions
  • Building and maintaining a professional network to attract new business
  • Expanding technical knowledge and professional development
  • Contributing to business development goals
  • Recruiting, developing, and motivating team members

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Law; Masters in Tax / LLM preferred
  • 5+ years of recent public accounting experience with construction and closely held businesses
  • EA License or CPA certification required
  • Project and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and networking skills
  • Strong experience with corporate tax accounting and tax software
  • Ability to multitask and commit to continuous learning
