About the Opportunity

HireNow Staffing is working with a nationally recognized intellectual property practice to find a skilled Patent Agent with a strong foundation in the life sciences. If you have a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related field and a passion for protecting biotech innovation through strategic patent work this opportunity is built for you.

What You'll Do

Draft, file, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications in the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors

Support attorneys in managing IP portfolios and conducting prior art searches and freedom-to-operate analyses

Help develop strategies around patentability, enforcement, and due diligence for complex biotechnology innovations

Communicate directly with inventors, in-house counsel, and technical experts to refine inventions and claims

Prepare technical documents and written opinions related to patentability, invalidity, and infringement

What We're Looking For

Ph.D. in a biological science (Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or related field)

At least 3 years of hands-on patent experience, including domestic and international prosecution

Experience drafting opinions in the biotechnology space is highly preferred

Strong analytical and technical writing skills

Excellent verbal communication and attention to detail

Active registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)

Bonus Points For

Experience working in a national law firm or top-tier IP boutique

Familiarity with chemical or pharmaceutical patent landscapes

A strong academic background and passion for emerging technologies
