Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 3 or 4 NICU Charge Nurse position with delivery and resuscitation experience and Epic charting proficiency.
Responsibilities
Work in a Level 3 or 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit within a short-term acute care hospitalPatient population includes critically ill neonates and newborns requiring advanced careExpected nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 3Position requires floating between NICU and other units or affiliate hospitals based on skill set and facility needsDay shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7 : 00 to 19 : 00Variable and rotating weekend shifts requiredOn-call standby may be required when not scheduled on the unitEpic electronic medical record system is used and prior experience is requiredRole includes leadership responsibilities and managing NICU workflow as a Charge RNExpect to float between nearby sister facilities including Milwaukie, Newberg, Hood River, Willamette Falls, Seaside, and Saint Vincent based on patient census and skill setHotel accommodation and mileage reimbursement provided for consecutive floating shifts to SeasideMust commit to working at least 3 out of the 5 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)Scrub attire is any color; specialty areas may provide specific attirePre-assignment online modules required prior to start and annuallyFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyRequirements
Active OR RN license, or eligibility to obtain prior to startMinimum 1 year of recent NICU experience, Level 3 or 4 requiredExperience as a NICU Charge RN and in delivery / resuscitation requiredEpic charting experience requiredMust provide two supervisory references covering one year within the last three yearsCandidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility for travel status eligibilityFormer permanent staff must have a 3 month gap before returning as a travelerMust have access to a personal vehicle for assignmentBenefits
