Scrum Master

ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Scrum Master to join our team in Ashburn, Virginia. This is a hybrid position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

A servant leader and coach for a software development Agile team.

Facilitate all Scrum events, including sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives, ensuring they are productive and time boxed.

Coach the development team on agile principles and Scrum practices, fostering a self-organizing and high-performing team environment.

Helps remove impediments and fosters an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement.

Work closely with the Product Owner to manage the product backlog, ensuring it is refined, prioritized, and transparent to the development team.

Facilitate effective communication and collaboration within the development team and with external stakeholders.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging experimentation and the adoption of best practices.

Support the adoption of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles and practices within the team and across the program.

Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree (Permitted experience exchange : High School and 6 years of additional experience or Associate's Degree and 4 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree)

Demonstrated experience applying agile principles and Scrum framework in a software development environment.

Familiarity with agile tools such as Jira or Confluence.

Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

10+ years of related experience working as a Scrum Master for software development teams.

Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification (e.g., SAFe Scrum Master, SAFe Agilist).

Experience working on government contracts, particularly within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or CBP.

Knowledge of CBP's mission and operational environment.

Experience working with large programs with distributed Agile teams.

Familiarity with DevSecOps practices.

Experience in coaching and mentoring development teams.

Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

Clearance Requirements :

CBP BI Preferred

Must have an Active Public Trust Clearance or be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance

Must be a US Citizen

Physical Requirements :

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
